Blog Growth Engine vs. Unlimited Affiliate: Why I Stopped Collecting Blogging Courses

Have you ever bought an expensive online course, opened the first lesson with your heart pounding, and thought:

“THIS IS IT! This is the magic pill that’s finally gonna change my entire life!”

Then you scroll down and realize… there are 84 modules, 300 pages of manuals, 12 complex funnels, and about 50 technical setup steps you apparently need to finish before lunchtime.

So, what did you do?

If you’re anything like the old me, you panicked, closed the tab, and went out to buy ANOTHER course! (lol)

Welcome to my former life as a certified, professional course hoarder.

I’m a blogger from Japan. For years, I had a world-class talent for finding shiny new marketing courses, and an absolutely embarrassing talent for actually finishing them.

One of the big Japanese courses I bought back in the day was Unlimited Affiliate—a massive, hyper-detailed affiliate marketing program.

More recently, while browsing American marketing blogs, I ran into Blog Growth Engine by Adam Enfroy.

Different countries, different languages, but looking at them made me laugh because it triggered the exact same memory:

What happens when you own a mountain of marketing information, but you’re still completely paralyzed and have zero idea what to do today?!

Let me be clear: this isn’t a fake 5-star review of Blog Growth Engine (I didn’t buy Adam’s course). This is a raw, honest look at why detailed courses can accidentally paralyze you, and how I finally broke free from “course hoarder hell” using a simple AI workflow.

The Japanese Monster I Actually Bought: Unlimited Affiliate

In Japan, there’s a legendary affiliate course called Unlimited Affiliate.

It teaches you everything: building blogs, setting up email autoresponders, crafting sales pages, creating bonuses, and building complex sales funnels.

It is packed with insanely valuable information. And unlike Blog Growth Engine, I actually pulled out my credit card and bought this one.

And you know what happened?

The problem wasn’t that the course was bad. The problem was that there was SO MUCH INFORMATION, my brain exploded and I couldn’t even figure out Step 1! (lol)

I was never the guy who could sit down, read a 500-page PDF manual from start to finish, and neatly execute every step.

I’d buy a course, get ridiculously hyped for about 5 minutes, open the dashboard, see the mountain of homework… and immediately feel exhausted.

So what did I do? I started searching for a “simpler, easier” course!

My collection of PDF manuals was growing at lightspeed. My income? Absolutely zero.

Different Languages, Same Nightmare: “Information Overload”

Whether you’re buying an affiliate marketing course in Tokyo or a blogging program in New York, the trap is exactly the same.

They tell you that before you write a single blog post, you MUST master:

  1. Keyword Research & Search Intent
  2. Advanced On-Page & Off-Page SEO
  3. WordPress Customization & Plugins
  4. Email Marketing & Lead Magnets
  5. Sales Copywriting & Funnels

Each topic leads to another rabbit hole.

You spend three weeks learning SEO. Then a month setting up an email tool. Then two weeks tweaking your WordPress theme.

Before you know it, you’ve spent three months “preparing to prepare.”

And the absolute worst part?

You feel super productive and busy, but you haven’t actually published a SINGLE THING!

I know, because I wasted years doing this exact circus dance.

I’m not saying detailed courses are scams. They contain great info. But if you’re a person who overthinks everything, a giant course becomes an expensive excuse to never take action.

The Breakthrough: I Stopped Studying and Started EXECUTING

One day, I finally got sick of my own excuses.

I stopped treating every new marketing concept as a subject I had to get a Ph.D. in before starting.

I just started making stuff.

  • I threw together messy blog posts.
  • I broke my WordPress site and fixed it.
  • I sent awkward emails to a tiny list.
  • I tried selling small products.

Did I mess up? All the time! (lol)

But suddenly, the dots started connecting in my brain in a way that no 500-page PDF manual could ever teach me.

A blog post brings a reader in. An email keeps the conversation going. A simple digital PDF gives them something practical to solve their problem.

They weren’t separate, scary “modules” in a course anymore. They were just parts of one fun, connected game.

How ChatGPT Completely Saved Me From Course Hoarding

Then, AI entered the game.

At first, I used ChatGPT like everyone else—asking it to “write a blog post about X”. And it spat out generic, robot-sounding garbage that sounded nothing like me.

So I changed my approach.

Instead of asking AI to magically write FOR me, I started TALKING to it:

  • I told it about my embarrassing history as a course hoarder.
  • I shared my real-life mistakes, my failures, and my weird opinions.
  • I vented about how annoying complicated marketing courses are.

And then I told ChatGPT: “Cool. Now take my real stories, my real failures, and my real voice, and help me structure this into a blog post!”

BOOM.

Suddenly, writing wasn’t a terrifying chore anymore. I supplied the raw life experience, and ChatGPT handled the typing and organizing.

I had accidentally turned ChatGPT into my Personal AI Ghostwriter.

My Simple Rule: Learn the Map by Taking the Trip

If you want to escape the course-buying loop, here is the secret:

Stop trying to memorize every road in the country before you leave your driveway!

Just take a short trip:

  1. Chat with AI about a real story or mistake you’ve had.
  2. Turn that chat into a short blog post and publish it online.
  3. Set up a simple email form.
  4. Create a tiny $19 PDF guide that solves one specific problem.

Connect the pieces. See it work with your own eyes.

When you run into a real problem (like “How do I link my checkout button?”), THAT is when you go learn that specific thing.

Learning with an immediate, real purpose is 100x faster than studying a 50-hour course “just in case”.

Stop Collecting Courses. Start Collecting “I DID IT!” Moments.

Look, learning is great. I still love discovering new AI tools and reading great books.

But nothing—and I mean NOTHING—beats the feeling of actually FINISHING something:

  • Hitting Publish on a blog post you’re proud of.
  • Seeing a new subscriber pop into your email list.
  • Finishing your very own 10-page PDF guide.
  • Hearing that first “ping!” of a $19 sale coming through.

Those are the moments where you get to stand up, grin, and say those three awesome words:

“I DID IT!”
